Huddled is a private, real-time space for shared photos and videos. Invite a group, and everyone's media lands in one feed, with reactions and comments, instead of scattering across chats and cloud drives.

Overview

Think of Huddled as a private Instagram for one group: a family, a wedding party, a trip, or a team.

You create a Space and invite people. Everyone adds to one shared, real-time feed. A Space can live forever (a family album) or end with an event (a trip). When the event ends, uploads lock but everything stays viewable.

Huddled works the same for one person or a whole organization. Personal and company accounts use the same foundation.

Private by default. Only invited members see a Space. Huddled serves media through short-lived, signed links.
Real-time. Uploads, reactions, and comments appear live for everyone. No refresh.
Kept forever. Time-bounded Spaces lock after their deadline but stay viewable.

Organizations and Spaces

Two ideas run the whole product. Most people only need one of them.

Space. One shared album and feed. Photos, videos, reactions, and comments all sit here. Every Space belongs to one Organization.
Organization. The billing and admin container. It holds who pays, who has a seat, and whether SSO is required. Billing always attaches to an Organization, never to a person.

When you sign up, Huddled creates a Personal organization for you. You never see it. You just see your Spaces. An organization switcher appears only when you belong to more than one.

In short: an Organization is who pays and who's allowed in. A Space is one shared album. Personal users just make Spaces.

Spaces

A Space holds the shared media for one group and one purpose.

Templates

Every Space starts from a template: Wedding, Trip, Party, or Blank.

Templates set the empty-state guidance for the occasion.
Wedding and Party also turn on the anonymous guest link. Wedding guests browse, Party guests add their own shots.
A template is a starting point. Every setting stays editable afterward.

Permanent or time-bounded

Every Space is one of two kinds:

Permanent. An ongoing album, like a family Space that never ends.
Time-bounded. Tied to a deadline, such as a trip, a wedding, or an event. Members get a reminder as the deadline nears. When it passes, the Space locks.

Lifecycle

A Space moves through three states: active, then locked, then archived. An active Space accepts uploads. A locked Space is view-only, so nothing new goes in, but everything stays visible forever. Time-bounded Spaces lock themselves at their deadline.

Storage

Each organization has one storage pool, shared across all its Spaces. Uploads count against it; deleting media frees it.

Only Free has a ceiling (1 TB). Pro and Team are unlimited. A Space with an Event Pass is unlimited too, and it sits outside the pool entirely. A paid Space under a Free account never draws on that account's 1 TB, which covers only its unpaid Spaces. See Plans and pricing for the numbers.

Roles and permissions

Each Space defines its own roles, built from six permissions:

canView is always on. If you're in a Space, you can see it.
canUpload
canDownload decides whether the role can take original files away.
canComment
canReact
canAdminister

canAdminister is the "space admin" permission. It also covers managing members, changing roles, editing the cover, moderating, and removing others' media.

The built-in roles

Creating a Space seeds four roles:

Viewers can look but not download originals by default. The Owner role is protected, so no one can edit it, delete it, or hand it out. Anyone with canAdminister can create custom roles from the five editable permissions.

Photos and videos

Upload photos and videos. Everything shows in the Space feed, with an optional caption.

Photos

Photos upload directly and appear in the feed immediately. Add a caption at upload. Only you can edit your own captions.

Videos

Huddled converts each video to adaptive streaming (HLS). A new video shows processing. It then becomes ready.

The longest video you can upload depends on your plan or pass:

You can upload videos in 4K. They play in up to 1080p.

How long processing takes

Most videos are ready within a few minutes.
Pro, Team, and pass videos are processed first.
Free videos are processed in turn.

Storage: uploads count toward your organization's storage, which all your Spaces share. If an upload would go over the limit, Huddled asks you to free up storage or upgrade. Deleting media gives its storage back.

Burst stacks

Near-duplicate shots taken seconds apart group into one stack.

The feed shows one tile with a count instead of six near-identical squares.
In the viewer, page sideways through the stack.
The uploader or a Space admin can pull one frame out (Remove from Stack) or split the stack into single tiles (Split Stack).

Disappearing posts

Where the Space allows it, a post can be set to disappear.

Choose 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days at upload. A countdown shows on the post.
When time is up, Huddled deletes the post permanently, along with its comments and reactions.
The uploader can switch their own post to Keep forever before it expires.
A video's timer starts after processing finishes.
Admins can turn disappearing posts off per Space.

Viewing and downloading

Open any item in the viewer to see it full-size, play video, react, or comment. Download the original when your role allows it. You can also report an item to the Space's admins.

Reactions and comments

React and comment on media in the feed, in real time.

Reactions. Tap the smiley to open the full emoji keyboard. Any emoji works, and picking one you already placed removes it. Every reaction shows as a chip with a count under the post details, and tapping a chip toggles it for you.
Comments. Up to 2,000 characters, live for everyone. Sort by recent, popular, or trending. You can delete your own comments.
Replies. Reply to a comment to start a thread. Threads go one level deep, so conversations stay readable.
Comment reactions. Comments take the same full emoji tray. Reactions show as chips under the comment, with yours highlighted.
Mute. A Space admin can mute a member. They stay in the Space and can view and react, but can't comment.

Recap reels

Huddled assembles a Space's uploads into recap reels, short story-style highlights at the top of the feed.

A reel can collect one day, one person's shots, one place, or shots everyone took at the same moment.
A reel plays like a story: frames auto-advance, tap the edges to skip, hold to pause. Videos play inline.
Reels take reactions and comments, like media.
Reels refresh on their own as new uploads arrive. No one has to curate them.

Sensitive content

Spaces can hold sensitive (NSFW) media without surprising anyone.

Per-Space opt-in. An admin chooses whether a Space allows sensitive media. Without the opt-in, only the uploader and the admins see sensitive items.
Marking. Admins can mark or unmark any item as sensitive. Marked items show a badge.
Your preference. In Settings, choose how sensitive media shows for you. Hide removes it from your feeds, Blur is the default and blurs it until you tap Show, and Show always displays it. Huddled never blurs your own uploads for you.

Activity and notifications

The Activity page is your inbox: new comments and reactions on your media, new uploads, deadline reminders, pending invitations, and join requests to approve. A bell badge shows your unread count.

How you're notified

In-app. Everything shows in Activity.
Push. Enable notifications per device in Settings. The web uses browser push, and the mobile app uses native push.
Email. Space invitations and account emails such as verification and password reset arrive as branded Huddled emails.

Preferences

In Settings you control notifications by category: comments, reactions, new members joining, and Space digests. Each is on by default. A Space digest is one summary notification for a busy Space instead of a push for every upload.

Members and invites

Two ways to bring people in, depending on how much control you want.

Email invite. Invite a specific person by email. They get a join link, and existing Huddled users also get an in-app invitation. Accepting joins them straight to the Space.
Share link or QR. A reusable link or QR code per role. Opening it, or scanning it from inside the mobile app, sends a request to join that an admin approves.

Only members with canAdminister can invite others. How many members a Space can hold depends on the owner's plan: up to 10 on Free, and unlimited on Pro and Team. Admins can change a member's role, mute them, or remove them. These actions never apply to the Space owner.

Anonymous guests

A Space can also open an anonymous guest link.

Visitors join instantly with just a display name. No account, no approval.
The admin picks the guest role and can cap how many guests join. The cap is separate from the plan's member cap.
The Wedding and Party templates enable the link by default.
Organizations can require a consent form before a guest enters.

Search

Filter your Spaces list by name from the Spaces page.

Moderation and recovery

Any member can flag media, which notifies the Space's admins. Admins and the uploader can delete media. Deletes are soft. You can recover media for 30 days, after which Huddled purges it permanently. Organization admins restore from the Admin console.

Signing in

Email and password. Passwords are at least 8 characters. Huddled verifies a new email with a 6-digit code.
Google and Apple. One-tap social sign-in.
Enterprise SSO. Enter your work email and Huddled sends you to your company's single sign-on when it requires it. Password, Google and Apple logins are then refused for that domain. The team owner keeps them as a fallback.
Password reset. Request a reset from the sign-in screen and you get a branded email with a secure link. For privacy, Huddled always says "check your email," whether or not the address has an account.

Organizations and teams

Your Personal organization is invisible and free. Team organizations are paid from the start, so creating one charges the first seat of a per-seat Team subscription. When you create or join a team organization, an org switcher appears. Team organizations use these roles:

Org role	What it can do
Owner	Full control, including billing. Always holds a seat.
Admin	Manage members, seats, SSO, and settings.
Contributor	A regular paid member of the organization.
Guest	An external person invited to a Space. Free, and never consumes a paid seat. Sees only the Spaces they are added to, and can't create Spaces in the team.

Guests are free. When someone outside your organization joins one of its Spaces, Huddled adds them as a guest and they use no paid seat. Opening a Space to clients or family never costs extra.

Admin console

Everything an organization owner or admin needs, in one place at /org/admin.

Overview. Seats, guests, storage, active Spaces, and your monthly bill, plus recent audit activity.
Seats. Invite teammates by email. Promote guests to paid seats, or move members to free guest seats. There is no seat limit.
Billing. See your billable members and your monthly bill. Manage payment details and invoices through the Stripe billing portal.
SSO. Enforce single sign-on for your domain.
Audit log. An append-only record of role, seat, SSO, billing, and governance changes.
Groups. Group related Spaces for larger organizations.
Consent. Show external guests a consent form before they join.
Recovery. Restore soft-deleted media within the 30-day window.

Plans and pricing

Start free and create as many Spaces as you like. Upgrade when you need more storage, longer video, or more people.

Storage is one organization-wide pool shared across your Spaces, and only Free is metered. Passing 1 TB prompts an upgrade to Pro, or an Event Pass on the one Space that needs the room. Annual billing on Pro saves about 20%. Team bills each month for every owner, admin, and contributor. When someone joins or leaves, the change is prorated on the next invoice. Guests are always free. All billing runs through Stripe. Manage or cancel anytime from the billing portal.
